I’m fond of telling people that I’m not originally from Texas, but I got here as fast as I could. I was actually born and raised in Los Angeles and I spent many of my adult years stationed there as well. This makes me well qualified to tell you that California is a wreck. It was a mess back then, and it’s even worse now. I still have family there, so I keep tabs on the state, and the more time that passes, the more thankful I am that we chose to live here in Texas, and not there, after I retired from active duty. I could write a book about the reasons why, but this video, by online commentator Bill Whittle, breaks it down nicely and gives us good examples of the differences between the people and culture of the two states. Bill’s astute observations and wise cracking ways make for a humorous piece…it also makes me happy we no longer live there.
