F-35A Performs First Night Flight

The Joint Strike Fighter achieved another first yesterday–the first night flight in the history of the F-35 program. Lockheed Martin test pilot Mark Ward flew the F-35A conventional takeoff and landing (CTOL) variant, known as AF-06, from the flight test site at Edwards Air Force Base in California . AF-06 launched at 5:05 PM (Pacific Standard Time) and landed after sunset at 6:22 PM. All F-35 aircraft are assembled in Fort Worth, Texas.

Texas angler Matt Fletcher poses with a big Brazos River striped bass he caught last week while out with Kayak fishing guide Shane Davies. According to Davies, “Matt is looking at getting into kayak fishing, and he wanted to see what all the buzz is about.”

58-year old Man Drowns on Lake Palestine

As if we needed another reminder to be careful out on the water this time of year, a man drown on Lake Palestine on Monday after his boat capsized.  The man was identified as 58-year-old Floyd Cooper and he may have been wearing a child’s life jacket when he drowned. His wife, who was with him…
