Photo of the Day – August 14, 2012

One of my son, Dan’s, favorite fishing holes is the Ouachita River, which originates in the Ouachita Mountains of Western Arkansas as a stream and then winds its way southeastward to Louisiana. This photo was taken from the Ouachita River Haven Resort and Campground near Pencil Bluff, Arkansas. Its proximity to North Texas makes it a popular weekend destination for those Texans prone to taken the path least chosen. The photo was taken by Dan during a recent trip there with some friends, and if it looks slightly familiar, it’s because of a previous POTD taken by Dan from the same spot a year earlier (see below), except the earlier photo was a nightscape.
