Photo of the Day – August 9, 2012

Today’s POTD comes to us from north of the border. No, not Oklahoma, but Canada. Last week I posted a video produced by the Canadian Paralympic Committee to get the word out about the upcoming Paralympics. They hired Toronto photographer Mark Zibert to produce a unique video called, “Unstoppable” which depicts a physically disabled runner seemingly running though time (click here to see the video). As part of that effort, Zibert also released this photograph of what can best be described as a visual chronology of injury through rehabilitation to unstoppable. The runner in both the video and photo is actual amputee and Paralympics athlete Allister McQueen, who lost his leg as an infant due to a birth defect. It’s a great photo, and though not from the Lone Star state, very worthy of being the Lone Star Chronicles Photo of the Day. Note: be sure to view the full size photo and look at the details in the chronology–this really is a great pic. (Photo by Mark Zibert)
