Photo of the Day – February 28, 2012

There are few things funner for a kayaker than being taken for ride by a fish–a sleigh ride, as kayakers call it. In this case, I’m being taken for a Devils River sleigh ride during a trip last February to the mouth of the Devils River via an arm on Lake Amistad. Lake Amistad is about 150 miles due west of San Antonio. So what exactly is pulling me? Could it be one of the monster LMB that inhabit Amistad Lake? Or perhaps a powerful striper like the ones that frequent this part of the river in the early spring? Or maybe one of the fat tiger-striped smallmouths that dominate this part of the Devils River?
